Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe sp. z o.o. (PPMT) is a contractor with more than 65 years of experience in services related to maintenance and repairs of railroads. The company carries out infrastructure maintenance works and large infrastructural projects, offering services such as refurbishment, modernization and construction of new railway tracks. Its goal is to provide comprehensive services to the railway sector, using modern and verified engineering solutions and contributing to increasing the innovativeness and safety of the railway lines in Poland.

PPMT makes use of its own, successively supplemented and modernized base of equipment which ensures compliance with the highest standards required during repairs and construction of tracks. The company has specialist machinery for track works such as: ballast tampers for tracks and turnouts, ballast profiling machines, track welding machines, dynamic track stabilizers, as well as its own rolling stock – locomotives and wagons. For the purposes of transport of aggregate and track surface materials for its own needs the company operates a few trains a day. It has well-equipped workshops and its own machining centre as well as design and engineering office. PPMT has been dynamically expanding the range of its services and developing its competences. It also has specialised human resources at its disposal, including: engineers, land surveyors, machine operators with long-term experience in the railway sector and also young workers holding the required licences and prepared for completion of the commissioned tasks. It employs more than 500 people.

PPMT provides a wide range of services in the following areas: 

• full-scope repairs, modernization and construction of railway tracks 
• construction works and services regarding civil engineering facilities 
• electrical engineering works for railway infrastructure 
• repairs of track works machinery 
• rail cargo transport 
• sharing locomotives, hiring machinery and equipment 
• machining works (including turning, milling, grinding, boring, heat treatment and thermo--chemical treatment). 

The machinery park of PPMT consists of state-of-the-art machinery including: 

• universal turnout and track tampers, including UNIMAT 09-32/4S Dynamic 
• road-rail track welders of KCM 007 type 
• road-rail vehicles with over lines repair and maintenance equipment.
