Transport | Maintenance | Rolling stock

The origins of the company date back to 1968 – the time when copper reserves were discovered in Lower Silesia. The rolling stock currently at the disposal of Pol-Miedź Trans in Lubin consists of about 1600 wagons of various purpose and more than 60 locomotives, including high-tech traction units for heavy freight transport. We provide a wide range of services in: domestic freight transport by rail, loading and unloading works, shunting services for sidetracks and loading stations and maintenance and repairs of own and third-party railway rolling stock. The key areas of activity of Pol-Miedź Trans include sidetrack operations focusing on transport services for KGHM and transport services provided to third parties throughout Poland.

The company has also started developing intermodal transport. As a part of the project titled “Purchase of new platform wagons and locomotives for intermodal freight transport” it purchased rolling stock for container transport financed by European grants under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment. The project covered the purchase of new rolling stock for intermodal transport comprising thirty-one Sgnss 60’ platform wagons and sixty-nine Sggrss 80’ platform wagons.

In parallel, an electric locomotive of “GAMA” type, equipped with an additional diesel drive system “Marathon”, was purchased for intermodal train sets. Due to multiple investments, the company can offer a wider range of railway transport services optimising the cost of transport and having a positive impact on the environment and transport safety in line with the company’s motto

“Safe. On time. To the destination”.
